About Me

My photo
Hi. I'm Claudia, a 44 years old Dutch girl living in Spain. I'm married to Ramon and we have three beautiful daughters; Laura 14, Lucia 13, and Alba 10. I am a practicing physician in general practice and I work in rural areas. I have been cross stitching since I was about 8. I have recently developed a passion for patchwork as well, so I have plenty to keep me busy! Oh, and yes, I do have a photoalbum: http://community.webshots.com/user/cmhamann

Well I guess good intentions are just that! I just cannot seem to get on here regularly.

Here is a picture of my latest work: grandma and grandpa's from the Lilliput Lane collection. The fifth in a series of 58!

And yes, I did finish the Hanging basket:

I am not very good at updating this blog! I will attempt to do better.

This is what I have been working on recently:

The last time I stitched on this was September 20th! It's been a while. However, I put it aside to do another thing; a birth record for a friend. I finished it last night.

And then there is the Stoney Creek quilted hearts afghan. I am completely up to date on that one, waiting for the next issue of the magazine to arrive. I made a little change in the pattern, removing the words and replacing them with a little hanging birdhouse.

and then there is Paula Vaghan:
Progress Aug. 21 2009

I just realized that I have not stitched on this since the end of August! Gotta get back to it!

And all of this does not even get me started on my quilting!

I finished a baby quilt this summer for a dear friend who had a little girl.

My quilting classes will resume on October 19th. I plan to make a double wedding ring quilt this year. I hope to update regularly to show progress.

So many projects, so little time!
Finished 23-04-2009

This is what started it all! It suddenly hit me; I want these cottages! So I searched the web high and low, it took me a while, but I now have the patterns to all the cottages issued in cross stitch (except two; gossip gate and the poppies - I hope these two will turn up somewhere sometime!). I will be making these into a quilt for my kingsize bed. Should keep me busy for a while; there are "only" 56 of these!

I've also worked on the Paula Vaughan lap throw. I've finished May!

I've been working on my sampler quilt blocks again.

my patchwork update

This is fun! No idea how long I will be able to keep this up actively, but I'm trying!

I finally took some pictures of my quilting projects. I finished Lucia's flying geese quilt about a month ago, but haven't had the time to take any pictures of it until now.

I think it looks nice! Won't be making another flying geese any time soon though! The border especially was a pain!

I have also taken pictures of the quilt blocks for the sampler quilt I am currently working on. Here goes:

my (almost)latest patchwork finish

This is a quilt I made for my nurse. She was going through a hard time and could use some comfort. Nothing fancy, just a quick yellow brick road pattern, but she likes it!

I will try to take some pictures of the quilt blocks I am currently working on. A sampler quilt using 56 different blocks. 16 down, 40 to go! I'll try to get to that this afternoon.

If you get bored with hust these few photos, here's a link to my webshots album:

trying to post pictures

With a little help from my friends, I hope I can now get this to work and I can show you the pictures of my stitching.

This is what I'm working on:

1. Stoney Creek quilted hearts afghan. Here is my progress as of January 24th.:

(Thanks Frauevi; it worked!!!)

And, since I will not sit still and do nothing in between waiting for the new Stoney Creek magazine to arrive every 2 months, I am also working on a lapthrow by Paula Vaughan; Quilts for all seasons. Below is my progress so far; have not worked on it in a while though .

I began this piece May 2008:

I hope you enjoy my pictures.

Well, I guess these modern gadgets catch up with everyone at some point! So now I too have a blog. Guess it's as good a way as any to keep those interested updated on my stitching progress and whatnot! So, for those interested, I will be using these pages to post (regularly or not!) the updates and progress on my various cross stitch and patchwork projects. Enjoy!

I have been working a lot lately and not exactly on my stitching. Too many hours seeing patients and too little time with the needle.

I am currently working on 2 large cross stitch pieces:

1. Quilted hearts afghan by Stoney Creek

2. Paula Vaughan's quilts for all seasons.

Now, if I can only figure out how to post a picture and get it to appear below the text I've written, then I'd really be on my way!
